Yes, the Helpline phone is managed by a third-party company for the purpose of securely gathering information about your concern.

Call the Helpline at 1-855-SPKAMTK (775-2685) or visit SpeakUpAmtrak.com.

You will be asked to provide information about the event(s), location, people involved, and any supporting documentation you may have.

YES! You may submit a report while remaining anonymous. The only information the Helpline requires for a new report are details regarding the concern so Amtrak may begin an investigation. If you would like to be contacted by Amtrak you may provide your name, address, phone number or e-mail.

Yes. Your concern will be treated with care and kept confidential to the extent possible. Certain situations may require action to protect safety or comply with the law.  If you are reporting an arrest regarding drugs or alcohol, please note those matters cannot be anonymous.

  • Compliance Concerns (conflicts of interest, drug/alcohol arrest, environmental issues, false claims, policy violations, public health issues, release of proprietary information, retaliation of whistleblowers, unauthorized discounts and unfair competition)
  • Fraud, Waste & Abuse (accounting/auditing irregularities, falsification of records, fraud, fraudulent insurance claims, improper loans, insider trading, kickbacks, mismanagement or misuse of funds, theft of cash/time/assets /services and embezzlement)

Call or submit anyway! The Enterprise Compliance team will review your concern and make a determination or seek additional information.

Yes. Submitting a concern, even anonymously, generates a Case Number/Report ID which you can use to check the status of your submission. To follow up on a report you have already submitted, click on the ‘Follow-Up” link found on speakupamtrak.com. Enter your Report Number and password, then click ‘Next’. If the investigator has questions, or a resolution has been provided, it will be available there.

Unfortunately, if you have lost or forgotten your Case Number/Report ID you will need to begin a New Report. For security and confidentiality reasons, we cannot retrieve lost Case Numbers.

All prior reports were migrated to Ethico. If you already have an Ethico case number, give it to the Helpline agent for follow-up. If you did not receive an Ethico number, provide a brief summary of your issue and your original Navex case number — the agent will record the Navex number and assign you a new Ethico case number for ongoing updates.

Even if you choose to remain anonymous, you should still create a password. This will allow you to securely: • Check the status of your report • Answer follow-up questions from investigators • Provide additional information Your password and system generated Case Number/Report ID are the only way the system can verify your identity without revealing who you are.

For security reasons, passwords cannot be recovered later or reset. If you lose your password, you will not be able to access your original report. You will need to submit a new report.

No. Your password and report are not tied to your name, email, or any Amtrak account. It only exists within the reporting platform to help securely manage your report.

Your password must be at least 6 characters long.

Any threat of imminent harm or violence should be immediately reported to the Amtrak Police Department at 800-331-0008 or to your local emergency services by calling 911.

I know Amtrak also has an Office of the Inspector General (OIG) hotline for reporting fraud, waste and abuse. Should I contact them directly, or can I use the Helpline?

You can submit your concern through the Helpline or directly to the OIG. If your concern involves fraud, waste or abuse and is submitted to the Helpline, the Helpline team will route it to the OIG so that it’s handled appropriately.

Retaliation for submitting a good faith concern is strictly prohibited at Amtrak.  Any retaliation should be reported through the Helpline immediately.
